Ideas & Side Projects
Here you will find a few ideas. Some are mine and some are from others. They all seem worth sharing.
Flexible walls for flexible rooms
With oil and gas prices rising out of control, the understanding is growing that we should probably limit the amount of space we live in. That is even more true for us Northerners up here with our seven months of winter. Some people take it to the extreme and follow the tiny house movement. For most of us that is taking it further than our comfort level allows. But luckily there are other options to save space and still live comfortably. One of them are flexible walls. Driftwood meets cubism
The first time I took my canoe down the Yukon River in 1996 and I saw the big piles of driftwood on every bend in the river I knew instantly they would make beautiful furniture. Later of course I realised, not much to my surprise, that I hadn't been the first one to have this idea. I saw driftwood furniture in many different styles. Some was beautiful. Some was practical. Some was both. But nobody combined the clear forms of modern cabinetry with the organic grown roots and trunks of the driftwood. So I decided to build a coffee table doing just that. You can find some pictures of this table here.
And there are many more ideas which I will put up here as soon as time allows.
